Cel mai celebru sortiment al casei Louis Roederer a fost creat în anul 1876, pentru Ţarul Alexandru al II-lea. Pentru a deosebi cuvée-ul special de celelalte vinuri, acesta a fost ambalat într-o sticlă de cristal cu fund plat. Noul sortiment a fost numit Cristal pentru că era clar, transparent şi luminos precum materialul din care fusese confecţionată sticla. Armonia acestui sortiment se datorează soiurilor mature de Chardonnay (aproximativ 40%) şi Pinot noir (aproximativ 60%), culese în cei mai buni ani. Cristal este învechit timp de 6 ani în beciurile casei şi lăsat să se odihnească 8 luni după vărsare, pentru a obţine o simfonie de arome şi o puritate excelentă. Sortimentul este perfect echilibrat, având o textură mătăsoasă, o mineralitate desăvârşită şi un finish inegalabil. Buchetul aromatic este complex şi inedit, conturând un caracter aristocratic acestui sortiment clasic. Cristal a primit în anul 2002 un scor aproape imposibil de 100 de puncte din partea revistei Wine & Spirits.
Notele degustării:
Miros: Un melanj superb de note fructate şi note citrice, extrem de proaspăt şi elegant.
Gust: Arome seducătoare de pară poşată, migdale dulci, caise şi mure, învăluite în note subtile de lămâie, grepfrut şi accente elegante de caprifoi.
Culoare: Galben pal, cu străluciri aurii.
The most famous assortment of the Louis Roederer house was created in 1876, for Tsar Alexander II. To distinguish the special cuvée from other wines, it was packaged in a flat-bottomed crystal bottle. The new assortment was called Cristal because it was clear, transparent and bright like the material from which the bottle was made. The harmony of this assortment is due to the mature varieties of Chardonnay (about 40%) and Pinot noir (about 60%), picked in the best years. Cristal is aged for 6 years in the cellars of the house and left to rest for 8 months after pouring, to obtain a symphony of aromas and excellent purity. The assortment is perfectly balanced, having a silky texture, a perfect minerality and an incomparable finish. The aromatic bouquet is complex and unique, outlining an aristocratic character of this classic assortment. In 2002, Cristal received an almost impossible score of 100 points from Wine & Spirits magazine.
Tasting notes:
Smell: A superb melange of fruity notes and citrus notes, extremely fresh and elegant.
Taste: Seductive aromas of poached pear, sweet almonds, apricots and blackberries, wrapped in subtle notes of lemon, grapefruit and elegant accents of honeysuckle.
Color: Pale yellow with golden shimmers.
