Descriere
II i.Hr.), iar Regina reprezinta glorioasa „Athena Promachos” (450 i.Hr., Muzeul Acropolei). In cele din urma, Pionul este o statuie de bronz a unui razboinic complet inarmat in 500 i.Hr.
Greek sculptors liked to recreate the divine conflict between two powerful gods, the God of the Sea, Poseidon and the Goddess of Wisdom, Athena, through their art. The King is a replica of the famous "Poseidon of Melos" statue (2nd century BC), and the Queen represents the glorious "Athena Promachos" (450 BC, Acropolis Museum). A Hellenistic bronze statue inspired the Bishop, and the Knight is part of the marble facade of the Parthenon sculpted by Pheidias. The castle is a reproduction of one of the most admirable Attic stars dedicated to the young Aristion who died in battle. Finally, the Pawn is a bronze statue of a fully armed warrior in 500 BC.
