Balvenie DoubleWood 12 ani se distinge prin învechirea în două tipuri de butoaie. Licoarea este transferata din butoaie de bourbon, în butoaie de sherry aflate la prima umplere. Acela este si locul unde îşi petrece ultimele nouă luni de maturare. Fiecare dintre aceste două etape împrumută calităţi diferite single malt-ului. Butoaiele tradiţionale conturează un caracter plăcut şi personal, în timp ce butoaiele de sherry conferă profunzime şi expresivitate gustului. În ciuda identităţii complexe, sortimentul este uşor de băut şi se adresează în special celor care preferă un single malt aromat şi sofisticat.

Balvenie DoubleWood 12 years is distinguished by aging in two types of barrels. The liqueur is transferred from bourbon casks to sherry casks at the first filling. That is also the place where it spends the last nine months of ripening. Each of these two stages lends different qualities to the single malt. Traditional casks outline a pleasant and personal character, while sherry casks give depth and expressiveness to the taste. Despite the complex identity, the assortment is easy to drink and is aimed especially at those who prefer an aromatic and sophisticated single malt.
