Pentru a deveni cavaler, trebuia sa fie instruit in vanatoare si calatorii si sa se familiarizeze cu caii si razboiul. La varsta de 20 de ani au fost investiti la o ceremonie speciala in timpul careia li s-au dat sabiile si au trebuit sa jure ca le vor folosi numai in scopuri sacre si corecte.
